- Study the problems of sexually transmitted diseases in the State of Texas; the subcommittee should study the nature and extent of this health problem, current program activities and resources in local communities, and the resources available to the Texas Venereal Disease Control Program and the people of Texas; and be it further resolved, the the interim study of the Subcommittee on Public Health and Welfare provide the groundwork for needed health planning related to a statewide prevention and control program for the sexually transmitted diseases; more importantly, it would provide the opportunity for quality assurance and the establishment of uniform statewide policies and guidelines for the prevention and management of the sexually transmitted diseases.
