| 1. | Make a thorough study, during the legislative interim, of the real estate industry in Texas. The Committee shall include in its report a study of the following: (1) the present Texas laws regulating the real estate industry; (2) the involvement of the Securities Board in the real estate field and the impact which such involvement has had; (3) the involvement of the Securities and Exchange Commission and other federal agencies in the real estate field in Texas and the conflict, if any, such involvement had caused with real estate laws in Texas; (4) present licensing requirements and the need for additional requirements to further protect the consumers of Texas; (5) the need and desirability of strengthening the law relating to those persons not having licenses to sell real estate sharing commissions and finders' fees; (6) the need for implementation of heavier penalties for violations of real estate laws; and (7) such other topics and information relating to the real estate industry in Texas with the view toward further protection fo the consumer as the committee deem necessary. | |
