SB 65 Caption: Relating to revising certain portions of the Workmen's Compensation Insurance Laws of this State; providing that beneficiaries under the law may, in cases appealed to the courts, contract for attorneys fees of such amount only as may be allowed by the Court in which the matter may be heard, the fee allowed by the Court not to exceed twenty-five per cent (25%) of the amount recovered, or $2,000.00 whichever is less; increasing the maximum weekly compensation payable to injured employees in certain cases; providing a method for calculating weekly compensation in all cases of partial incapacity, whether resulting from general injuries or the specific injuries scheduled under the law; providing that in cases of multiple injuries weekly compensation shall not exceed the maximum cases involving pre-existing disability or infirmity; requiring that compromise settlement agreements include a statement of the extent and duration of the incapacity upon which such settlements are based; excluding from coverage injuries occurring in the course of travel under certain conditions; providing for self-insurance, qualifications of self-insurers, and certain fees and expenses in connection therewith; prescribing certain powers and duties of the Board of Insurance Commissioners relative to self-insurers; preserving prior law with respect to claims originating prior to the effective date hereof; providing a savings clause; repealing all laws or parts of laws in conflict.
SB 87 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts requiring petitions and cross-petitions for divorce to contain information relative to children of the parties to the marriage; making provisions relative to custody and support of children under 18 years of age in event divorce is granted; providing for further proceedings relative to custody and support and fixing venue of such suits; authorizing inquiry into surroundings and circumstances affecting custody and support; providing for testimony by parents; authorizing appointment of next friend to investigate and report on conditions concerning children, and allowing a fee therefor; authorizing enforcement of court orders by contempt proceedings after notice.
SB 138 Caption: Relating to setting forth the manner and form in which stock certificates shall be issued by any corporation organized under the laws of the State of Texas and how such stock certificates shall be signed, whether by officers of such a corporation or by a transfer agent or assistant transfer agent, and providing for the use of a facsimile or printed corporate seal, and facsimile signature of officers of such corporations; and providing for the use of a facsimile or printed corporate seal and the use of facsimile signatures by certain officers of such a corporation on bonds, debentures and other evidences of indebtedness when such securities are authenticated by the manual signature of an officer of the corporate or other trustee appointed or named by the indenture or trust or other agreement under which such securities are issued.

SB 278 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation to the State Board of Control to be used in repairing and remodeling of the Old Land Office Building property placed under the custody and control of the Daughters of the Republic and the Daughters of the Confederacy; providing that the money expended and contracts entered into for the repairs and remodeling of such property shall be by and under the direction of the State Board of Control; directing the State Board of Control to consult and obtain the advice of the Daughters of the Republic and Daughters of the Confederacy concerning the repairing and remodeling.
SB 301 Caption: Relating to establishing a Port Area in the Harris County Houston Shipping Channel Navigation District; describing the boundaries of such area; defining the powers of railroads to exercise the right of eminent domain in such Port Area; requiring railroads to obtain a permit from such Board of Navigation and Canal Commissioners to construct all tracks in such area not coming under the jurisdiction of the Interstate Commerce Commission; and providing a penalty for violation thereof.
SB 317 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts so as to require that notice of hearing on assessments for street improvements be mailed to abutting property owners and to provide for a trial de novo on appeal to any court of jurisdiction and further to provide that failure to give such notice shall be a defense in a suit to enforce any such assessment.
SB 368 Caption: Relating to amending the Insurance Code relative to the creation and organization of the Board of Insurance Commissioners, the terms of office of the Commissioners, and their duties; repealing all laws and parts of laws in conflict therewith; providing a savings clause.

SB 223 Caption: Relating to fixing the term of office of School Trustees of Independent School Districts, whether created under General Law or by Special Act of the Legislature, having one hundred thousand (100,000) or more scholastics according to the last official scholastic census and wherein there may be situated a City having a population of five hundred or more according to the 1950 Federal Census, and having a board of seven (7) trustees.
SB 241 Caption: Relating to amending the Penal Code relative to the crime of burglary, so as to provide that any person who shall commit burglary by use of any acetylene torch or electric arc or nitroglycerin, dynamite, gunpowder or other high explosive shall be confined in the State penitentiary for any term of years not less than five (5).
SB 242 Caption: Relating to amending certain acts by authorizing the State Treasurer to exchange cigarette tax stamps of the old denomination representing taxes paid at the new rate which are presented to the Treasurer for exchange within 30 days from the effective date of this Act for stamps of the new denomination.
