SB 169 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts by increasing the fees for certified copies of vital records furnished by county clerks and the State Registrar of Vital Statistics and for searching the records of the State Bureau of Vital Statistics, by authorizing deposit of fees in the vital statistics fund oftener than at the close of each month, and by providing for a refund of fees where the Bureau cannot render the service for which the fee was paid.

SB 228 Caption: Relating to coordinating and correlating the existing statutes relating to the equalization of property for purposes of ad valorem taxation and the fixing of tax rates by all governmental subdivisions and districts whose taxes are carried on the county tax roll, and to provide the county tax assessor-collector sufficient time to complete the current tax roll, current receipts and tax notices prior to the date fixed by law for current collections to begin, by requiring that commissioners courts sitting as boards of equalization shall convene on the second Monday in May of each year and complete equalization as nearly as possible not later than July 1; requiring that the State, the various counties and all other subdivisions and districts whose taxes are assessed, collected or assessed and collected by the County Tax Assessor-Collector shall fix their respective tax rates not later than July 1; repealing all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith.
SB 229 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts to provide that in all counties having a population of less than 225,000 the County Judge as budget officer shall prepare the county budget on or immediately after January 1 of each year; providing that the budget hearing shall take place within seven calendar days after the filing of the budget and prior to January 31 of the current year; providing that upon final approval of the budget, a true and correct copy thereof shall be filed with the State Comptroller of Public Accounts; providing for a repealing clause; providing that this Act shall become operative January 1, 1956.
SB 230 Caption: Relating to requiring the assessor-collector of taxes of each county to attend one professional conference or legal institute each year and such other conferences or institutes as may be called by the State Comptroller of Public Accounts; providing that the county shall pay all the expenses of the assessor-collector of taxes for attending these conferences or institutes; providing that in the event the assessor-collector of taxes is unable to attend that his first assistant, chief deputy or some other assistant designated by him shall attend the conferences or institutes; providing the fund out of which the expenses of the assessor-collector of taxes or his deputies and assistants shall be paid; providing for a repealing clause.
SB 231 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts to provide that the fee to be paid for compiling, re-compiling or supplementing the delinquent tax record shall not exceed Ten Cents ($.10) per item or written line; repealing all laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith; making the Act cumulative; providing a saving clause.
SB 312 Caption: Relating to enlarging, extending, and redefining the boundaries of Bell County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1; granting additional power and authority to said District; providing that certain provisions of the general law shall not apply to said district and prescribing certain procedure in regard to bond elections and the cancellation of the authority to issue bonds heretofore voted; validating the creation and organization of said District; providing that this Act shall be cumulative but shall control over other laws in conflict; providing a severability clause.
