HJR 8, 43rd R.S.
Proposing an Amendment to Sections 2, 4, 16, 22, and 23, of Article IV, of the Constitution of the State of Texas, so as to fix term of office of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Comptroller of Public Accounts, Treasurer, Commissioner of the General Land Office, and Attorney General at four years, so as to provide the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General shall neither be eligible to succeed himself and so as to empower the Legislature to enact provisions for recall by the qualified voters, of any elective officers whose term of office is fixed at four years or more.
