HB 599, 44th R.S.
Relating to providing that in all counties having a population of 350,000 or more, according to the last preceding Federal Census, upon petition of one hundred or more of the qualified voters of such county, the county judge of such county shall order an election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of such county for the question of whether or not a tax for school purposes not to exceed one cent on the one hundred dollars' valuation of taxable property in such counties shall be levied, assessed and collected for an equalization fund for the purpose of equalizing educational opportunities in such counties.
