SB 276, 45th R.S.
Relating to granting aid to San Jacinto, Polk, Trinity, Houston, and Walker Counties, Texas, made necessary by reason of the fact that the Federal Government has purchased in said counties practically fifty percent (50%) of the land in said counties, thereby taking off the tax rolls so much valuation that said counties can not operate a county government, and has caused great destruction to the roads and other improvements in said counties, remitting, releasing, granting, and donating to said counties all State ad valorem taxes and occupational taxes levied or to be levied on property in said counties including the rolling stock of railroads for the years 1937-1942, both inclusive.
