HB 80, 51st R.S.
Relating to amending the Uniform Teacher Contract Law specifying persons entitled to the benefits of the Act; providing that on and after September 1, 1949, and annually thereafter, the initial contract of employment between a teacher and a school system shall be for a period of not less than one (1) year; providing the second contract with the same school system shall bee for a period od not less than two (2) years; providing the third and all succeeding contracts with the same school system shall be for a period of time of not less than five (5) years; providing this Act shall not affect any district now giving contracts to any teacher for a period of time exceeding one year;providing cause for suspension, demotion, and dismissal; providing procedures for suspension and dismissal; providing for appeal, compensation, salary reduction, non-renewal of contract, reduction of the number of teachers employed by a school system; providing that if any provision of this Act shall be held unconstitutional or void it shall not affect the other provisions of the Act.
