HBA-RAR ALS H.B. 1005 76(R) BILL ANALYSIS Office of House Bill AnalysisH.B. 1005 By: West, George Transportation 4/11/1999 Introduced BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The 75th Legislature enacted legislation that designated the future route of La Entrada al Pacifico Corridor. The route followed State Highway 349 from Lamesa south to Midland, west on I-20 to Odessa, and then south on US 385 to Fort Stockton. H.B. 2115 also directed the Texas Department of Transportation to design, construct, and place commemorative markers along the highway to indicate the corridor's designation. H.B. 1005 makes technical corrections to statutory language by slightly modifying the corridor's route and boundaries.
