Introduced

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

The 73rd Legislature enacted H.B. 41 which established The Texas Academy
of Foreign Languages and Culture. During the legislative process the bill
was amended to prohibit general revenue being appropriated for the programs
of the academy. H.B. 2226 repeals Section 2, Chapter 609, Acts of the 73rd
Legislature, Regular Session, 1993, to effectively remove the prohibition
on general revenue appropriations for the costs of implementing the act
establishing the Texas Academy of Foreign Languages and Culture.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does
not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, department, agency, or institution.
