Introduced

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Currently, the Parks and Wildlife Code restricts the possession of live
game animals, with certain exceptions. If a person is in possession of a
game animal and cannot produce license or permit authorizing the person to
keep the animal, then that person is in violation of Section 63.002, Parks
and Wildlife Code. However, there is currently no penalty section for the
offense.

H.B. 2303 makes it an offense punishable as a Class C Parks and Wildlife
Code misdemeanor for a person to be in violation of Section 63.002
(Possession of Live Game Animals), Parks and Wildlife Code.

not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, department, agency, or institution.
