Introduced

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Current law requires certain persons to obtain a temporary training permit
or an apprentice permit before the person may fit and dispense hearing
instruments. There is currently a shortage of persons who can fit and
dispense hearing instruments. H.B. 3416 exempts a person licensed as an
audiologist or an audiologist intern from obtaining a temporary training
permit or apprenticeship permit in order to fit and dispense hearing
instruments.

It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does
not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, department, agency, or institution.
