Currently, the State Board of Education (board) is authorized to grant
additional charters for open enrollment charter schools for which 75
percent of the prospective student population will be students who have

authorizes the board to grant additional charters for open-enrollment
charter schools for which a majority of the student population will be
students who are economically disadvantaged.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does
not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, department, agency, or institution.
