Introduced

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Currently, the numerical progress of students on subsequent assessment
instruments required under Section 39.023 (Adoption and Administration of
Instruments), Education Code, is not included for students who fail to
perform satisfactorily among other factors on which the academic excellence
indicators must be based. H.B. 877 includes the numerical progress of
students on such assessment instruments, aggregated by grade level and
subject area, for students who fail to perform satisfactorily on those
assessments, among other factors on which academic excellence indicators
must be based.
