BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
Current law authorizes a prosecutor to collect a fee of $10 for collecting
and processing a dishonored or forged check or similar sight order of which
the face value does not exceed $100. S.B. 284 changes the fee to $10 if
the face amount of the check or sight order does not exceed $10, and $15 if
the face amount of the check or sight order is greater than $10, but does
not exceed $100.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does
not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, department, agency, or institution.
