HBA-TBM H.B. 1265 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Office of House Bill AnalysisH.B. 1265 By: Clark Urban Affairs 2/26/2001 Introduced BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE As new statutes continue to be added which deal with municipalities and as old statutes remain untouched, many aspects of the language become archaic or contradictory. Currently, in the Criminal Procedure, Government, and Local Government codes, certain laws affecting municipalities and counties are in need of clarifications and technical corrections. House Bill 1265 makes these clarifications and corrections. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. ANALYSIS House Bill 1265 amends the Criminal Procedure, Government, and Local Government codes to make clarifications of and technical corrections in certain laws affecting municipalities and counties. EFFECTIVE DATE September 1, 2001.
