HBA-JEK S.B. 145 77(R) HBA-JEK S.B. 145 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Office of House Bill AnalysisS.B. 145 By: Carona Public Health 5/1/2001 Engrossed BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Current law authorizes the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners to issue only one license to the owner of a chiropractic facility regardless of the number of facilities that person owns. The board may collect a fee for only one license even if a person owns several facilities. Senate Bill 145 provides for the issuance of one license for each chiropractic facility owned. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. ANALYSIS Senate Bill 145 amends the Occupations Code to provide that rules adopted by the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners must provide for the issuance of one facility license to an owner of a chiropractic facility for each chiropractic facility owned by the person. EFFECTIVE DATE September 1, 2001.
