"McNeill [sic]" appointed 11/5/1863; however, in election contest, House Committee on Privileges and Elections determined Eastland had duly won the election from Bastrop County, not McNeill. Eastland was then sworn into the House 11/11/1863 (House Journal, 10th R.S., pp. 40, 69-70, 75, 82).
