Committee on Housing of Artifacts Found Off Padre Island - 61st R.S. (1969)
Work with the eventual custodian of the Spanish treasure in arranging for its display appropriately near the site where the discovery was made, either in the existing museum in Corpus Christi, Texas, or in a new museum established at the site of the discovery on land which has already been tendered to the State of Texas as a gift for this purpose.
The Committee shall also direct that markers be placed at the actual site of the sunken ships, so that tourists visiting the museum may see them and the area will become second only to the Alamo as a tourist attraction.
Appointed by Speaker 10/23/1969, pursuant to HSR 78, 61st 1st C.S.
