Charges

- Study where a component or components of the University of Texas System and the Texas A&M University System should be established in South Texas.
Notes
Senate Resolution 124, 70th Legislature, 2nd Called Session authorized the creation of a special committee to review the issue of including south Texas universities in either the University of Texas System or the Texas A&M University System. However, in response to the need for a broader study than that authorized by SR 124, Lieutenant Governor Bill Hobby and Speaker of the House Gib Lewis appointed the Legislative Joint Committee on Higher Education in South Texas.
