Study the needs of autistic citizens of Texas, and make recommendations regarding the State's role in providing for autistic citizens needs. Consider alternative noninstitutional environments which have proven effective in other states. Evaluate the appropriateness of existing institutional programs for autistic citizens of Texas. Examine the current lack of specialized developmental counseling programs for parents and foster parents of autistic persons. Review the need for additional specialized inservice and undergraduate training in autism and other behavioral disorders.
