- Inquire into and report upon the condition of the offices of the Comptroller and Treasurer of the State, and the mode and manner of auditing and paying claims against the State.

The Committee was asked to continue its work after the reports were issued on 10/19/1871. The Committee issued a majority report on 12/1/1871 signed by C.D. Morris, chair, L.B. Camp, B.F. Williams, and G.W. Spencer. The minority report issued on 12/1/1871 was signed by Fritz Tegener, chair, F.G. Franks, Ira H. Evans, and M. Kendall.
