  • United States Army, World War II. " . . . at the age of 17, when he enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country in World War II; stationed in the Pacific Theater, he saw combat duty in New Guinea and the Philippines . . . As a member of Company G of the 511th Paratrooper Regiment of the 11th Airborne Division, Mr. Kugle participated in the liberation of Manila and later served with the Occupation Army of Japan following the Japanese surrender." 73rd Legislature, R.S., HR 372.
