Biographical Sketches

• John Adriance Ballowe, died 8/13/1896 in second term as Fort Bend county judge, formerly Brazoria county judge, father of Leigh Millican Ballowe, Volume II, p. 808. Historical Review of South-east Texas and the Founders, Leaders and Representative Men of Its Commerce, Industry and Civic Affairs, 1910.
• John A. Ballowe, father of Leigh Millican Ballowe, Volume IV, pp. 1927-1928. "During the administration of Governor Hogg, he [John A. Ballowe] represented Fort Bend county in the legislature serving two years." Elected Brazoria county judge in 1885 and Fort Bend county judge in 1895. A History of Texas and Texans, 1914.
