Doggett "was elected as Flotorial Representative to the State Legislature from the counties of Collin and Denton, serving one term as such as he received the appointment from President Grover Cleveland as Internal Revenue Collector for the Northern District of Texas with headquarters in Dallas." Born 3/6/1848 near Fredericksburg, in Stafford County, Virginia.
