  • Mentioned in biographical sketch of son George C. Pendleton, Volume II, pp. 615-616. Edmund Pendleton served as member of the state legislature from Ellis County and died there in 1868. Marriage to Sarah (Smart) Pendleton, both natives of Tennessee, moved to Ellis County 1857. Relatives: Edmund Pendleton - father, George C. Pendleton - son. A History of Central and Western Texas, 1911.
