  • THOMSON, WILLIAM DOWSING (1806-1866), "by 1850 Thomson was among the prosperous and influential citizens of Milam County . . . Thomson represented Milam and Williamson counties in the House of the Fourth Texas Legislature from 1851 to 1853." Handbook of Texas Online.
  • W.D. Thompson/Thomson, member of the state legislature; wife Permelia Ann Thomson; died in Burleson County in 1866. Mentioned in biographical sketches of son-in-law J.G. Gordon and son D.D. Thomson. His daughter Miss L.R. Thompson married J.G. Gordon in 1862 in Austin. "Mr. [W.D.] Thomson brought his family to this State in 1838, locating at old Nashville, Milam County, and remained there thirty years.
