United States Army, Second Lieutenant, Captain; Texas State Guard, Major. Biographical sketch, 85th Legislature: "Tony is a proud U.S. Army veteran and the fifth generation in his family to have military service. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1989. In 1990 he joined the Army ROTC program. In 1992, upon graduation from The Ohio State University he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Regular Army. As an armor officer, Tony trained at Fort Knox, Kentucky and was later stationed with the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas from 1993-1997. He served as the tank platoon leader of A-2/8 CAV and is the former 2/8 CAV Battalion Maintenance Officer. In 1997 he left active service with the rank of Captain. He is currently a Major in the Texas State Guard."
