- Obituary, "W.W. Boyd Dies Corpus Christi," 9/7/1939, p. 1. "Walter W. Boyd was born in Wise county, near Deep Creek in 1887. He moved to Decatur with his parents in 1896 . . . He was appointed Game, Fish, and Oyster Commissioner under Pat Neff, where he served four years. Following this he was selected state representative from Wise county and served two years. After this he was in charge of the Coast Division of the Game, Fish and Oyster division which position he held up to the time of his death." Wise County Messenger.
