  • Claude E. Carter, mentioned in biographical sketch of the family of his wife, Dannie Adams Carter, Volume 2, p. 4. "Dannie Adams, born August 26, 1905, in 1922 married Claude E. Carter, son of Henry and Dovie Carter, a promising young attorney who later served in the Texas Legislature. Moved to Harlingen, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley and practiced law there for 55 years - was elected President of State Bar of Texas in 1942 - died October 5, 1977 at age 80. Claude and Dannie Carter had one child, Kathleen Carter. Dannie Carter lives in Harlingen, Texas." Tom Green County: Chronicles of Our Heritage, 2003.
