Biographical Sketches

  • Biographical sketch, F.B. Russell, Volume V, pp. 188-189. Born 1/22/1888 in Buckholts, Texas. "He was elected a member of the Thirty-eighth Legislature from the districts comprising Polk and Trinity counties, but resigned before the conclusion of his term. While in the Legislature he was author of a bill which passed the Senate but failed to pass the House, and which would have continued the former practice of capital executions in the individual counties, under the immediate supervision of the sheriff instead of by the wardens of the penitentiaries." Texas Under Many Flags, 1930.
