"In Texas he was sent from Llano county as a member of the Twenty-seventh Legislature, and during that time was instrumental in getting passed a special bill for the care of the deaf, dumb and blind, for which unfortunates up to that time no provision bas been made by this great state." - Henry Russell McInnis, came to Texas with his brother Joshua T. McInnis, and in 1861 entered the Confederate army; "became a noted lawyer and pioneer citizen of Llano County and served in several times in the Texas State Legislature . . .
