"He came to Texas in 1883 and has been engaged in stock raising in Mexico, near Piedras, Negras. He spent five years in the United States consular service as vice consult and United States consular agent under Cleveland, and has been a life-long Democrat . . . " Fort Worth Daily Gazette.
