- Obituary, M.H. Whaley, St. Jo, Texas, 6/14/1904, p. 6. "He was a member of the Eighteenth [sic] legislature from this (Montague) and Clay counties, and afterward served two terms as collector of taxes for this county." Fort Worth Record and Register.
