  • Biographical sketch, p. 75. States that Captain Davis attended Constitutional Convention of 1866 and died in 1877 on a farm south of Weatherford, in Parker County. Biographical Directory of the Texan Conventions and Congresses, 1832-1845, 1942.

Davis (1790-1859) donated land for First Baptist Church; General James Davis, adjutant-general and member of Texas Congress 1843-1844, Constitutional Convention, 1845, buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery (born 7/17/1790, died 2/10/1859).
