Proposing an Amendment to Section 61 of Article XVI of the Constitution of Texas so as to make it mandatory that all district, county and precinct officers be compensated on a salary basis beginning January 1, 1957, with the exception of Notaries Public, county surveyors and public weighers; providing that all fees and commissions earned and collected by district, county and precinct officers with the exception of Notaries Public, county surveyors and public weighers shall be paid in to the county treasury where earned for the account of the proper fund; providing for the necessary election and form of ballot; and providing for the necessary proclamation and publications.
