HB 795, 54th R.S.
Relating to making it the duty of the Highway Commission to determine the maximum gross weight in excess of 58,420 pounds, but not exceeding 64,650 pounds, at which commercial motor vehicles and combinations thereof, while being used exclusively to haul certain products may be operated on highways and parts thereof without materially lessening the life expectancy or materially increasing the maintenance cost thereof; naming such products; defining terms; setting forth the powers and duties of the Commission in connection with such findings; providing for amendment or modification of such findings and orders; setting forth the terms and conditions under which it shall not be in violation of the gross weight limit for commercial motor vehicles to operate with a gross weight limit over 58, 420 pounds, but not exceeding the limit fixed by the Commission when used exclusively to transport the products named herein; providing for registration of such vehicles and the payment of fees therefor; prohibiting gross weights in excess of limits fixed by Commission; providing penalties for violation of the terms of this Act; providing a savings clause.
