HB 56, 34th 1st C.S.
Relating to creating a more efficient road system for Walker County, by amending law, providing that the commissioners court of Walker County shall set aside and apportion to each independent road district of said county the money arising from the taxes levied for roads and bridges in said district and providing that the board of permanent road commissioners of such district shall have the power to expend such funds on the roads and bridges in such district; providing that such board shall have the power to appoint or not to appoint road overseers in such district, and to apportion the road hands in such district to the roads therein, and providing for the working of such road hands under the direction of such board and prescribing a penalty for failure of such road hands to work, and providing that such road hands may pay one dollar per day in lieu of work.
