Governor vetoed bill on April 17, 1871. Legislature passed HB 589, an act supplementary to an act entitled "An act to incorporate the Casino Society of Yorktown, on May 3, 1871. (printed as Chapter CLV in session laws) Governor sent message to House on May 9, 1871 stating that the supplemental act "obviates the objection stated ... in my message" and that he is willing to withdraw his veto.
