HB 13 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts relative to admission taxes on places of amusement, so as to change the base rate of the tax as to admissions to entertainments such as motion pictures, operas, plays, and like amusements held at fixed and regular established motion picture theaters, and so as to provide for penalties for failure to make the quarterly report or to make a false or incomplete report or failure to pay the tax when due; removing tax on passes or complimentary tickets.
HB 48 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts regulating the maximum length of motor buses; requiring certain motor buses to be equipped with air brakes and to have a minimum of four (4) tires on the rear axle.
HB 109 Caption: Relating to providing that for a period of two (2) years, commencing September 7, 1953, vehicles used exclusively to transport ready-mix concrete may be operated upon the public highways of this State with a tandem axle load not to exceed thirty-six thousand (36,000) pounds by first filing with the State Highway Department a properly conditioned surety bond.

HB 922 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation for the balance of the fiscal year ending August 31, 1953 to the Texas Liquor Control Board in the sum of Ten Thousand, Six Hundred and Sixty-nine Dollars and seventy-six cents ($10,669.76) out of the Liquor Act Enforcement Fund in the State Treasury of the State of Texas.

HB 15 Caption: Relating to making certain adjustments in the Tax Structure of the State of Texas; providing increased rates in the tax levied therein; to provide a more certain and definite method of calculating the gas production of tax on liquid hydrocarbons recovered from gas; repealing certain acts, except as to certain taxes, penalties, interest accruing before the effective date of this Act, and preserving certain liens, penalties, and administrative procedures; increasing the franchise taxes therein levied; increasing the taxes therein levied upon the sale and importation of beer; clarifying the tax levied upon the furnishing of certain services in connection with oil and gas wells and preserving certain obligations, taxes, penalties and interest which have accrued prior to the effective date of this Act; adding a period of limitation in which suits may be brought to collect the taxes levied therein; providing effective dates.

HB 53 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts regulating the length of motor vehicles, etc, when operated outside the limits of an incorporated city or town; regulating the gross weight of commercial motor vehicles, etc, when operated outside the limits of an incorporated city or town and limiting the weight which may be carried on any wheel, tire or axle of such vehicles or combinations thereof; providing that the total gross weight with load on any such vehicle or combination thereof shall not exceed Seventy-Two Thousand (72,000) pounds; providing penalties for the violation of the provisions of this Act.
HB 161 Caption: Relating to creating a County Court at Law of Hidalgo County; making said court a court of record; prescribing its jurisdiction, civil, including matters of eminent domain, criminal and probate, and conforming to such jurisdiction the jurisdiction of the County Court of Hidalgo County and the jurisdiction of the district court of the 92nd Judicial District; providing for the transfer of matters and proceedings from the County Court of Hidalgo County and the district court of the 92nd Judicial District.
HB 227 Caption: Relating to amending certain acts relating to the assessment and collection of taxes in municipalities and districts so as to provide that any district located within the boundaries of another municipality or district may avail itself of the services of the Tax Assessor and Collector and Board of Equalization of such other municipality or district.
HB 228 Caption: Relating to amending certain statutes providing that in the trial for all suits for divorce where there is a child or children, under sixteen years of age, as an issue of the marriage sought to be dissolved, the Court shall enter an interlocutory decree preventing either party from marrying any other person for one year.
HB 229 Caption: Relating to amending certain statutes so as to give to school districts a lien for taxes upon personal property.
HB 230 Caption: Relating to providing for the creation of regional college districts and defining the territory which may be embraced therein; providing for calling, holding, and canvassing of elections for the establishment thereof, and providing the procedure therefor; providing for the election, organization, tenure and duties of the governing bodies thereof; providing for the government, administration and regulation of the institutions of learning therein and the selection of the officials thereof.
HB 268 Caption: Relating to creating a citrus and vegetable bonding and licensing law which shall provide for the bonding and licensing of all buyers, brokers, purchasers, handlers, dealers, or other persons of firms who purchase or handle citrus and/or vegetables either as purchasers for themselves or for others; fixing the amount of such bond and license.
HB 322 Caption: Relating to providing the method for expenditure of funds appropriated to State departments, boards, bureaus, commissions, and other agencies.

HB 635 Caption: Relating to providing that Hidalgo County, Texas, may deposit with the State Treasurer an amount sufficient to pay, and for the purpose of paying, all of its water improvement bonds together with the interest thereon to the date when they become due or optional for prior payment and the contract premium.
HB 636 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts providing for better enforcement of provisions relative to time and manner of required inspection of citrus fruit; providing for better enforcement of the law; changing the maximum of and certain provisions relating to collection of fees required to be paid; providing a severability or saving provision.
HB 637 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts by more clearly defining private motor vehicle owners; providing that any person who transports goods, wares, or merchandise individually and not in association or combination so as to be excluded from the definition of "motor carrier" or "contract carrier" shall be deemed a private motor vehicle owner.
HB 638 Caption: Relating to amending certain statutes relating to the promulgation of rules and regulations by the Railroad Commission; authorizing the Railroad Commission to establish minimum prices for gas at the wellhead from gas wells when necessary to prevent waste or conditions conducive to waste.
HB 639 Caption: Relating to ratifying and validating ordinances and other acts and proceedings of the governing body and other officials of any city providing for the issuance of refunding bonds due serially and bearing interest at a rate or rates not to exceed three and one-half (3 1/2%) per cent interest for the purpose of refunding outstanding term refunding bonds bearing graduated rates of interest.
HB 640 Caption: Relating to amending a certain act by changing the provisions regarding the water control and improvement districts to which such Act applies; adding a section permitting the surrender of districts' bonds in certain circumstances.
HB 641 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation to the Texas State Parks Board of the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000) Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, out of any funds in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to provide for separate equal facilities for Negroes in the State Parks System of Texas.
HB 725 Caption: Relating to creating a conservation and reclamation district to be known as "Valley Acres Water District."
HB 798 Caption: Relating to authorizing two (2) incorporated cities, towns or villages to jointly operate and maintain hospitals; providing for Boards of Mangers for the operation of such hospitals; providing for delegation of power to said Boards of Managers to control and manage such hospitals and providing for the appointment of Boards and prescribing the powers and duties thereof; providing for contribution of funds for the support of said hospitals; providing that this act shall be cumulative.
HB 830 Caption: Relating to making an emergency appropriation to Substation No. 15 of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station System, Weslaco, Texas, to supplement the appropriation made to said Substation No. 15 in Item 16 of the Appropriation to the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station System out of an funds in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the payment of salaries and other operating expenses during the biennium ending August 31, 1953.

HB 384 Caption: Relating to making an emergency appropriation to the State Department of Agriculture, Division of Horticulture and Plant Quarantines, for the purpose of employing personnel and paying their expenses to search for and insect host plants of dangerous citrus insects, pest or plant diseases, especially for Citrus Black Fly, on road stations leading into the Citrus Belt of Texas and on international bridges between the United States and the Republic of Mexico.
HB 638 Caption: Relating to amending a previous Act, providing for and regulating Citrus Fruit Inspection Fund.
HB 797 Caption: Relating to granting to the United States an easement in and to the bed and banks of the Rio Grande River from Fort Quitman to the mouth of said river to the extent that such easement may be necessary or expedient in the construction of the projects contemplated by the Treaty of February 3, 1944, between the United States of America and the United Mexican States.

HB 518 Caption: Relating to amending a previous Act, to provide that five or more persons engaged in the production of agricultural products or three or more associations may form a non-profit co-operative association with or without capital stock under the provisions of this chapter, and to provide that within the meaning of the term "persons engaged in the production of agricultural products" are included persons who purchase agricultural products from the growers thereof and can or pack the same for market.
