- United States Air Force, Tail Gunner, Korea and Japan. "He served in the Air Force from December 29, 1950, until December 29, 1954. He was trained as a gunner on B-29 bombers. In 1952, he was sent to Japan where he served for 6 months as a Tail Gunner on B-29s. He flew 39 bombing missions over North Korea. Upon returning to the United States, he served the rest of his enlistment as a gunner on a B-50 combat ready crew stationed at Roswell, New Mexico." Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
