  • General Edward H. Tarrant, born 1796, death date 8/2/1858 in Fort Belknap, Texas, burial in Pioneers Rest Cemetery, Fort Worth. Veteran of the War of 1812 and took part in the Battle of New Orleans, January 8, 1815; Veteran of Texas War of Independence, 1836; Commander of the Ranger Forces of the Northwestern Frontier, 1837; General of Militia at Village Creek Indian Fight, 1841.
