(2) Investigate the manner, circumstances, and any and all other matters connected with and relating to the execution of the original option to purchase said lands by the Prison Commission from said Bassett Blakely, and any and all other agreements, contracts, or communications, by and between representatives of the State of Texas and said Bassett Blakely relating to the same, and the attempted cancellation and release of said option.
