The committee shall be named by the lieutenant governor and speaker of the house with three members from the Committee on Appropriations in the House of Representatives; providing for the committee to consider and report on the overall organization, effectiveness, involvement, and costs of the commission and department in certain areas; providing for the committee expenses to be paid from the contingent expense funds of the senate and hosue upon approval of the chairman of the committee, as provided in the joint rules; providing for the committee to have the power to subpoena witnesses and records, to employ necessary staff, and to call upon other agencies, departments, and offices of the state government for assistance in carrying out its duties as called for in this resolution.
