4. Women's Suffrage in Texas: Struggle, the Story: Successes, Notable Firsts: Senators, Women of the Texas Senate

Describes the struggle for suffrage and the legislative efforts to achieve enfranchisement for women. Notes that since the first woman was elected to a statewide office a century ago, Texas women have served at every level of state and local government - currently there are 33 women in the Texas House of Representatives and 9 in the Texas Senate.
